About Joseph Eijl

Joseph Eijl was an office clerk, living in The Hague. Joseph Eijl carried out illegal activities for the Communistische Partij Nederland (CPN). For example, he distributed pamphlets for the February strike. On the instruction of an NSB person, he was caught red-handed and picked up on 26 February 1941 in the Van Woustraat. From the prison at the Weteringeschans in Amsterdam, he was transferred to the penal prison in Scheveningen (the Oranjehotel). On 13 March 1941, Joseph Eijl was executed on the Waalsdorpervlakte.
