Frouwkje Cohen-Knorringa was the oldest daughter of Comprecht Levi Knorringa and Johanna van Zuiden. She grew up in a family with four children. A brother or sister of her died before the war. On 29 April 1927 Frouwkje Knorringa married Levie Cohen. The ceremony took place in Uithuizen.
