About Betje Polak

Betje Polak from Wildervank was a daughter of Nathan Isaäk Polak and Rachel Cohen. She was unmarried and lived till March 1930 in Leeuwarden. Per 26 March 1930 she arrived in Rotterdam, where she lived in at Virulyplein 3b, where also her brother Jakob lived with Henriette Polak; they were married in 1928. 26 March 1938 she moved with them to Doezastraat 32 b in Rotterdam.

It is not known when Betje, her brother and sister-in-law were called or caught for transport to Westerbork. Known is however that she, her brother and his wife were deported from Westerbork to Auschwitz 12 October 1942 and on arrival there, 15 October 1942, immediately killed.
