About Willy Daniel Cohen

Willy Cohen was a cattle dealer. He was married and lived at Bremerstrasse 70 in Leer. In 1937 he moved to Antwerp with his wife and four children. His last known place of residence was Westenesscherstraat 86 in Emmen. In May 1943 he was deported from a prison cell to Auschwitz.

On 7 December 1940 Willy Daniel Cohen was arrested by the Sicherheitsdienst and taken to The Hague two days later. He would have taken money with him from Leer, contrary to the strict anti-Jewish measures in Germany.
