Arnold van Gelder was the son of the butcher Levie van Gelder and Julia van Gelder-Landau. In retaliation for an act of sabotage, Jews were picked up on 7 and 8 October 1941 in the Achterhoek [east of the province of Gelderland], including Arnold van Gelder. He was deported to Mauthausen.
