Cornelis Marinus van Schaik was a son of Betje Peperwortel. He married Leentje Slager in 1923 in Amsterdam. They had a child that survived the war. They divorced in 1933. He remarried Duifje Klein the same year. This marriage was dissolved on 29 July 1942.
