Arie Zilverberg was a son of Samuel Zilverberg and Betje Stoppelman. He married 1 February 1905 in Amsterdam to Sophie Potsdammer, daughter of Tobias Potsdammer and his first wife Frederica Schweiger. Sophie however died on 19 October 1905 in Coevorden, aged 30, and Arie remarried 17 August 1906 to Frederica Potsdammer, a daughter of Tobias Potsdammer and his second wife Jeanette Vos, daughter of Hartog Mozes Vos and Roosje Frank.
From the first marriage of Arie Zilverberg and Sophie Potsdammer a son was born who have survived the war.
From the second marriage of Arie Zilverberg and Frederica Potsdammer, seven children have been born: one son has survived the war, the others who have been killed during the Holocaust were the here mentioned Jacob, Arend and Caroline and also Sophie Lea, Betje and Tobias.
