Philip Dormits was the son of Herman Dormits and Sophia Salomon. He married Mientje Schoonhoed in Arnhem at 16 February 1910. The couple had two children: Sophia and Philip. The family lived at the same addess as Mientje's sister Saartje Schoonhoed.
