Isaac Tas, son of Abraham Machiel Tas and Rosalina van de Kar, married Betje Swart in Amsterdam on 16 January 1895. The couple had eight children: Rachel (who died when she was less than four months old in 1895), Saartje, Abraham, Gabriël (who died when he was less than 2 years old in 1902), Levie, Gabriël, Rachel and Frouwke (who died when she was just over a year old in 1910).
The family lived at various addresses in Amsterdam, the last on being 31 Retiefstraat, second floor.
